Community Outreach Programs
Support Tanzania
Jane and Pete Brandes, members of our church, travel to Tanzania to work in a medical facility. We support them by selling fair trade coffee and other crafts. The profit goes straight to paying for medical attention to the locals most in need in Tanzania, as well as supporting a medical student.
Adopt-a-Family
Every Christmas First Lutheran participates in Salvation Army's "Adpot a Family" program. This program provides winter and household essentials for local families in need, as well as gifts for the children. We take donations through December 21st. Dedicated to providing hope to orphaned children, at-risk teens and impoverished women of Northern Perú through the support of youth transitional homes, orphanages, schools, youth development, women’s sustainability projects, short term mission trips and volunteer programs.
One of two camps the ELCA runs in Colorado, we have a long history of partnership with this beautiful camp near Canyon City.
